We came to Manasota Key for a much needed family getaway with our 20-something daughter, who was visiting from Boston. Castaway was the perfect place to be close to the beach (a 3 min. walk!), or just relax inside if it was rainy in the afternoon. The place is spotless and very nicely decorated, with great colors and beachy theme. It's also on a very quiet street and feels fairly private, even though there's a unit next door. The kitchen has just about anything you need to cook your own meals - and a nice sized table with pretty dishes and cloth napkins, etc. We'd enjoy our morning coffee in the sun out front on the adirondack chairs, then head to the beach after breakfast and swim in the gorgeous, perfectly temperatured water, look for shells and stroll on the beach. One of our favorite extra's Lisa provides are the bikes! Fun beach cruisers that are awesome for toodling around and exploring, or riding over to the little free library down the road (there are also books in the tv cabinet in the house). She also has beach chairs, beach umbrellas, floaties and beach towels - you really don't need to bring a lot of extra stuff! Lisa is an excellent host - very friendly and responds quickly - and really seems to have a caring and detailed way of running things. We loved Manasota Key and we loved Castaway B!
